Requesting coverage of hate-motivated vandalism

  • Free for Municipal Units and Local Businesses with financial limitations to coverage. 
  • Size dependent, large coverage may require referral for commissioned mural work. 
  • Coverage timelines have not been collected, but we aim to have all symbols covered as rapidly as our artist schedules allow

Request a commission art piece or mural

  • Cost for all organizations on a sliding scale based on size, time estimates, and artist compensation.
  • Portions of the fees go to supporting Rural Artists Against Hate financially, the other portion compensates the artist fairly for their work.
  • Coverage timelines have not been collected, but we work with our artists to provide time estimates based on size, vision, and work.

We require a Letter of Authority (Permission to Work) from the recognized property owner or managing authority before any artist is mobilized.

This essential step is non-negotiable, guaranteeing the protection of our network from legal risk while promoting community trust through transparent and fully accountable operations. Furthermore, securing this permission ensures the resulting artwork is a lasting, sanctioned expression of unity, leading to meaningful transformation rather than a temporary cover-up.

How to Submit a Request: Unlocking the Canvas

If you are the property owner or managing authority and are ready to partner with RIf you are the property owner or managing authority and are ready to partner with RAAH to turn a space of hate into a canvas of beauty, the entire request process is completed via a single, comprehensive email submission. The successful initiation of our work depends on receiving all necessary authorization and project details upfront.

Submission Requirements: Written Authorization and Project Details

Granting the legal right to work on the affected surface is the foundational requirement for work completion. To ensure a smooth process, your email must contain both the formal permission document and the necessary project information:

  1. Written Authorization: Please utilize our pre-drafted Letter of Authority template to formalize permission. This completed, signed document must be attached to your email.
    • This Letter of Authority has to include permission from the Property Owner, unless you are renting and have autonomy in facility matienance
      • If you are renting a storefront and would require permission to alter the front as per your rental agreement, property owner permission must be indicated in the Letter of Authority.
  2. Email Body Details: The body of your email must clearly include the following:
    • Name of the organization or individual requesting the work.
    • Name of the recognized property owner.
    • A detailed description of the vandalism (including size, exact location, and surface type—e.g., brick, wood, concrete).
    • Your hopeful timeline for a response or completion.

Submit via Email: Send your complete submission, with the signed Letter of Authority attached, to: ruralartistsns@gmail.com

Once your complete submission is received, our team will review the request and connect with a dedicated RAAH artist to cover over art.
